Planning implants 4/5 (singles) implant bridge 7-9, single implants 12/13. Best long term temp while implants heal? Flipper vs long term lab made temp? Im also crowning 6/10/11 so i could have nice lab made temp for him to wear for 4 months?

100% long term fixed temp from lab.
I love these because you are basically previewing what the final will be, but you can still tweak it. I like acrylic, but some labs like to do zirc temps too
I would still use a flipper tho during the initial healing phases.

So for surgery day stick with just the implants. Let it heal for a little bit, then go back in and prep 6/10/11?

What implants is everyone using? And what made you choose that system?
When I was in perio residency, we used about 5-6 systems just to get a feel for them all and see how things differed. But in practice there is so much to consider (price, healing, ease of use for surgical and restorative).
So I’m interested in what people are using!

Well, yall know what I’m using haha! Been exclusively using Implant Club for many years now 😁
But would love to hear what everyone else is using! 🙂

I used to place almost all Neodent, now I have been placing more and more Implant Club 😅. Still placing Zeramex for Zirconia Implants.

Hello Everyone,
I have a patient I recently saw for an impression for an implant crown. I completed a two stage implant surgery. I didn’t note any complications at time of implant placement or uncovering.
The patient returned after three weeks for her impression. I noticed some inflammation surrounding the buccal of the healing abutment. There…

Was the healing abutment down all the way? Typically nothing should get between the healing abutment and implant if that connection is snug. I’ve seen ones where stuff gets in there with it not being down all the way.
Oral hygiene? This absolutely makes a difference when you have a fresh surgical site (even just for an uncovery) and can cause…

Hey Justin,
Thank you for sharing this case with us.
Let’s rule out some possibilities.
1. Was the healing abutment brand new? If it was brand new, was it sterile? Some docs sterilize old used healing abutments and re-use them on other patients. Unfortunately, that sometimes results in transfering debris from one patient to another, which is…

I completely agree with your reasoning here. If you feel like you can do better, you owe yourself and the patient the opportunity to do so. I also have the pleasure of seeing a lot of implants placed by a lot… Read more

Hello everyone,
I have a patient with a fractured Straumann tissue-level implant at site #31. The coronal portion of the implant has fractured off circumferentially, leaving only the bone-level portion intact. This implant previously supported a gold crown on a one-piece abutment. Additionally, the tissue-level implant at site #30 has a worn… Read more

let me also clarify the PA. that is a Closed tray impression coping screwed on to the fractured implant.

I would love to see what the remaining platform looks like. It may surprise us!
If the remaining piece is fractured in a way that an abutment would leave some irregular gaps and holes, you may consider using your impression coping to try to capture the shape of the remaining fractured implant. You can do that by applying light body…

What are some goals and challenges that you are working on?
View more comments-
I’ll go first.
1. I want to build up my bone grafting tool belt. Expanding to bigger grafts.
2. In the next 2 weeks I want to get 2 new referring doctors to my practice. I’m going to be sending out some letters and making personal visits.

Tightened inplant which starts spinning
Thanks all
My intended length was reached, it was just strange because the implant reached the intended length (subcrestal), and at 30ncm torque, but then on the last turn of the wrench it became a spinner. Thats what i didn’t get, i thought maybe i overtorqued and wiped out the threads of the site.

Hi all,

Hello Ahmed! Thank you for asking. You are absolutely right! We actually put our 2-piece screw removal kit on pause for the moment. I want to improve its quality at the moment.
I will share some links to alternatives that you might want to try.

Tightened inplant which starts spinning
Ok, so I always place my Neodent subcrestal. I was told that leaving the implant in the cortical layer of.bone will cause resorbption. Its important to drill deeper than you intend. It also depends on density. If I were placing a 1st molar in a healed site I would drill to 10 mm with 2.2 drill then drill to a 5.0 at 8mm then place a 5×8. I… Read more
