  • Help with etiology of periimplantitis. I had a pt get implants placed and over the course of 6 months he has had one fail and come out and another has enough bone loss to also require replacement. My frustration is I dont know what I could have done differently.

I will say the pt smokes and is allergic to penicillin. I think he also has a…

    • How are the other implants doing? Do they look perfectly healthy in the patients mouth?

    • So update on the mysteryous implant from Tuesday dicussion. I removed the implant crown. I noted that i was able to remove it by hand so that leads me to believe it loosened up. I had to tap on the buccal of the restoration to break the morse taper seal. I noted a bubble of pus which i popped. I think may have been from food getting below the…

    • I have a patient who needs a vestibuloplasty prior to restoring her implant supported denture. Does anyone have any tips on technique? Will probably punt to specialist but I am curious on how to go about the procedure.

    • Anyone else heard of this new graft material called Tetranite.

Its like a bone cement. They have videos cementing implants in extraction sockets and getting about 50Ncm. 😱

      • Miron talked about this at a course I took, apparently been in testing since 2017, and being used in medical ortho surgeries to glue bones together. Very promising… however, from his words, only a small amount should be used due to decreased blood flow in glue area which mineralizes.

        • Reminds me of the bone graft called Bond-Apetite. My buddy Nabeel Cajee swears by it. However, I haven’t dug into the literature of bone cements.

          Hi everyone.

Great case, graft looks solid. Pretty awesome advice from Steven V.

One question, just for the sake of knowing better. Wouldn’t be also a case option for non-surgical RCT, or Apicoectomy and grafting, and then, if necessary, an immediate placement?. Thoughts?

        • What’s up everyone? What’s everyone up to these days?

          • Drinking a lot more coffee as pts slow down before school starts. This year as a whole has been a lot slower which means fewer implants. 😭
            Anyone else notice this also?

        • Any recommendations on abutment screw removal kits? I’ve got one from implant direct but it’s too big to fit into the head of the abutment screw. The implant is a Neodent CM drive implant with a damn 0.9 mm abutment screw head that is stripped. Am I best off just slowly trying to back it out with ultrasonics?
