Practice Start-up Update 12/27/22

Well, I can officially say the practice is up and running.

We were able to modernize the old office from the retiring seller. We did some remodel work that made a big difference. New floors, new paint job, and repairs and upgrades of the equipment that looks like it hadn’t been fixed in decades. This all took about $13,000.

My first purchase was a VATECH Cone Beam CT for $47,000. Then I stocked the office with a full set up of implant equipment from Implant Club.

Finally, I installed a robust videography set-up so that every single procedure would be recorded in macro video without any further set-up or hassle.

We had our first surgery yesterday. This is us after our first surgery. My wife, Teresa is on the left, Dao, is my cousin who works with us at Implant Ninja, and Camillo is my dad’s dental assistant who came to observe and be part of the fun. And I’m on the right.

It went super smooth. It was a #4 implant. The entire surgery took 25 minutes max. Here’s the post op CBCT:

See? Piece of cake! But the catch is that it has been a bit of a slow start. We took over the keys around August. And it is now December. At this rate it looks like we will have only 4 implant surgeries a month. So, now it’s time for me to start our marketing efforts in earnest.

Here are some key things to tackle:

  • We rank #38 on google for the search term “dental implants lodi” That needs to be fixed.
  • We need to improve our local web presence
  • We need to find opportunities to market offline as well.
  • I need to go out into the world and meet the doctors in my city. Going to lunch with them, just making friends will be a great! Sure, in terms of getting patients, but also just to meet some nice people–that’s always a plus!

Immediately this is what I did today to start fixing our web presence issue:

I registered us on Google My Business.

This took like 2 minutes to do while me and Teresa were watching Netflix. It just asks you for some basic information about your business. I made sure to include some of the key words that I want to rank for on google.

I Added Relevant Content

I added new pages to my website in order to make it have more relevant content. It cant be spam. It actually has to be useful content. I added “Dental Implants Process” and “Dental Implants Cost Lodi” pages. You can visit those pages and see there is nothing super special about them. But I am starting the process of making my website a little bit more useful. And now that I published this, I have some outside links that link to those sites. Granted, I know this is not a beautiful website. But its a start!

I Made it Easier for Patients to Book

Before, I was requiring payment before patients could schedule their dental implant consultation appointment. Now, I removed that requirement and just have patients answer 2 questions and then they can pick the appointment time. And, hey, I saw one person book a consultation today!

Okay, so that’s a quick overview of where things are at! I’ll be sure to post updates on new things that I do to boost my new patient flow!

Cheers!

Ivan
