I have also had luck with removing crowns with a tapper or with forceps with silicone tips when I had used temporary cement.

Other than the options Ivan mentioned. Typically you have to drill through the crown and estimate where the screw access would be. Evaluating the x-rays can help with that. You can use many different burbs, but typically I use the same diamond tapered that I used to prep a crown. Do you want to drill down carefully until hopefully you see some cotton or even better Teflon tape. You just wanna be careful so you don’t over prep, and damage the head of the screw. It’s a little cumbersome and a pain in the butt but to be honest, it’s not as bad as it sounds even for someone doing it the first time
