OK Dojo Peeps. Some of you wanted to see some suturing techniques for socket preservations that we went over during the last study club meeting so here you go. Lots of different ways that you can do it. A lot of it just comes down to preference. This one is an inverted figure 8 with multiple passes. I find this to be a very useful suture technique. It is very secure and the multiple passes helps to give the tissue a little head start to close in the right direction :). If any of you want to see any other examples just leave a comment below and I can try to add another picture or two of some other cases.

      • I have a question about this Jed, when would you suture and when would you just leave it to heal up on it’s own?

I know there are many ways to skin a cat here. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

        • If I’m ever placing bone graft, material and membrane, I would always suture just to help contain it as the young clot and site is starting to mature as it will better hold everything together.
