Here’s a case of what you should expect to see when you don’t value bone, biology, and proper space around your implants.
This was a second opinion/consult from a new patient regarding her lower treatment and implants. These all were removed and reversed out with an implant removal driver and a torque wrench. All of the sites were grafted for future implant placement for an implant supported denture.
Typically, you want to have a minimum of 3mm between implants to have enough bone and biology to support the bone between them, however, often proper spacing is more than that. You typically want 1.5 mm to 2 mm between implant and teeth and typically 2 mm of bone to the buccal and ideally all the way around the implant.

We actually took a CBCT prior to removal and there’s plenty of bone width after the proper Bone removal via alveoplasty is performed so we just grafted the sites so we had more options for spacing of the future implants. After the patient heals for four months or so we’ll go back in properly Reduce the bone to get the adequate bone width that we need and properly space the implants appropriately.
That is why it’s so important to plan these properly and to have a clear plan in place and execute them so that you don’t have so many failures and complications that can clearly be avoided.
