Two Cents Tuesdays:
What’s some of the best advice you’ve ever been given? Or wish you had been given 10 years ago?
Jedediah, Khurrum and 2 others-
“Dont eat yellow snow.”
jk Advice my granddad gave me: “theres nothing more permanent than a temporary solution. So do it right the first time!”

In residency, one of the attending oral surgeons told me, “Nobody cares more about you than you.”
It helped me to realize that if you want to do something, you’re the only one stopping you. Gotta make things happen for yourself and not count on any outside help, luck, or special circumstance. And also that you have to make sure to take care of yourself. Life is a marathon!

if you do right by the patients, the money will follow.

@kssheikh I like this one man. It’s true. Number one thing to getting patients: just be a good person.
You know what’s crazy though? I worked at a clinic where the doctor was quite the opposite. She was a drug abuser and straight up lied to patients. And her clinic produced a ton of money. She practiced like this for a long time and from the outside had a great reputation. She made it to retirement too. But her drug issues caused a lot of trouble for her. She lost her license eventually but got it back. Craziness.

Here’s one for the juniors:
A tree will always grow best in one place. Don’t jump from one thing to another thinking you will cover more ground and make more money. Transplanting a tree over and over makes it stop growing compared to others who sit and achieve things in one place.

A wise dentist once told me not to fight a patient over money if they are upset.. just give them a refund and move on with life.
