Ivan posted an update
What are some goals and challenges that you are working on?
Jedediah and Mic-
I’ll go first.
1. I want to build up my bone grafting tool belt. Expanding to bigger grafts.
2. In the next 2 weeks I want to get 2 new referring doctors to my practice. I’m going to be sending out some letters and making personal visits.

@kssheikh love it. Brand building is such a fun challenge! I am currently trying to do the same locally. Can I ask, what are you doing for this?

My goal is to place 30+ implants in my office in 2025.
I’d like to become more comfortable reading CBCT’s and understanding surgical guide fabrication. Then be able to use that knowledge to decide if I want to do a case free handed or guided.

@jmsdds love that, 30 implants + is a 💯% realistic goal. Are you currently placing?
As for the CBCT stuff, I would recommend downloading blue sky plan right away. Also, I can send you some videos that can help. You got this! 🔥

1. I want to become better in planning and execution on big full mouth cases (wear patients, patient that haven’t been to a dentist a long time and need full mouth rehab). I like to do patients on my own in all aspects(endo, perio, smile design, ext, ortho, implant restorations, prosthodontics). How to plan this patients and how execute all the procedures from mockup—>final result ( digitally). In that in mind I am reading a book: Protocol written last year by dr.Marko Jakovac and dental tehnician Dragan Stolica and it is amazing
2.learning about implantology and do more restorations on it by myself

@maja love it! What is this book about? Sounds very interesting.
I really enjoy those big cases as well. They are so transformative! What are you doing to work towards this goals?

Recently became a partner in a group practice. My wife and I have our first child on the way in January. Current goal is to learn to balance the demands on life and be a great father, leader/boss, and dentist all at the same time. The most re-occuring and toughest challenge is balancing the time trying to advance my skills to do and be all of those things and not sacrificing the time needed for my family. It helps to have a great support system at home and at the office. Just trying to be the best that I can be.

@Ben16 bro, this has been the main theme of my life for 7 years now.
How to balance career ambitions, with family life. This is a huge topic in itself, and is what I devote most of my thoughts to 😅
It sounds like you are already starting with the right mindset.
One question I like to ask myself periodically is, “what are you optimizing for?”
Many people miss this question and then they become a slave to other people’s priorities.
It’s a constant work in progress bro! Congratulations on starting this exciting new phase in life!2

I’m working on updating some workflows at my practice and trying to digitize a lot of our SOPs.
-
@jostanger ooo im curious about that. How do you digitize it? And if you digitize it, how do you still keep it top of mind for your staff? For me, when I digitize an sop, I tend to forget it :/

@ivan-chicchon For me its building experience with grafting, particularly with the use of membrane stabilisation.

@ash191 very cool! I myself am currently trying to get as much practice with that as possible. I understand the lasso surgical technique but it still takes effort to get those sutures neat! So I’m practicing as often as I can!

My goal is to achieve financial independence in the next 8 years while finding ways to continuously carve out more time for myself and my family. I love to travel and would love my kids to be able to continue experiencing and seeing the world; and better yet – to live in a different country to experience their cultures and way of life.
