Hi I have an implant bridge case to restore. Pt is in his 80s. I have just been restoring single units before this and would love some help/advice about how to proceed. The initial idea was just to scan, which I’m comfortable doing. But I have learned that the scanner may not be so accurate for larger cases like this. I will order a special tray first of all.
Some questions that come to mind
1) do people scan cases like this with good success
2) how would u take a bite registration on the right hand side
3) what happens if the pt can’t open up wide enough for open tray technique
4) after impression or scanning do u go straight to issue or is there a step worth taking in between

you can scan cases like this, we have done it at our office plenty of times. if its an impression, its always full upper and full lower impression with bite registration including all the teeth. Try closed tray technique. what’s your restorative space here and choice of material?

@bishaya thanks. If I were to scan, would u recommend splinting the scan bodies. Not sure about the exact restorative space but we have done a wax up for the surgical guide and it’s not deficient. Although I should start measuring it from now on. I was just going to go titanium base then zirconia. Is that what u would do?

Traditional impressions for the lab to scan if needed and bite with wax rim. I find that to be most predictable.
