Hi guys,
Just wanted to put it out there, what a great community this is. I love that it is not purely academical and judgemental 😀 I attended the complications webinar two weeks ago and loved it- what I miss in our dental community at home is the ongoing stigma around GPs doing surgery and especially women 😀 I love the fact that you show failures, not so ideal situations and that there is support!
I attended an ITI meeting back home and it was purely academical- do not get me wrong, it was interesting, but still there was this feeling that everyone will judge if you show not perfect stuff. My opinion is, that if you work, there is inevitably something going to go wrong. I have had my fair share of complications, but I try to resolve them by myself, sometimes with more, other times with less success.
Anyway, I am from Slovenia, which is a tiny country in central Europe, and have been practicing for app 10years now. I got involved with implants when my dad stopped placing them some years ago. I have been placing them since 2017 (how time flies) and absolutely love them 😀 the dojo is a great example of supporting professional community and I am happy to have found out about it.
Keep up the great work guys!
Ivan, Dhanraj Alex and 5 others-
Hi @veronika0312 ! Thank you so much for your kind words, it’s really, really nice to hear that we’re doing something with this learning community and it is in fact impactful! We’ve been working on this for some time now, but this time feels like we’ve got it! And as part of the Ninja team, we do see the stigma around women in the dentistry world and we’ve got your back!!

@veronika0312 that is such a wonderful thing to hear! I am glad you were able to attend the webinar!
That’s what we’re aiming for–to foster a community of people who are here to learn but to form friendships too. And to not be to overly academic about it all.
Tell us more about you! I know nothing of Slovenia, but would like to learn what it’s like. Can you send us a picture of your clinic?-
Thank you all for a warm welcome 🙂 I am also very excited about the crowdfunding campaign for your implant brand! Already signed up for investing and I think my mom will too 😀
Anyway, we are a small clinic, my mum is the boss and the two of us work there full time, my little brother is working part time and my dad used to work here as well part time (yes, we are all dentists), but retired two years ago. Slovenia is a small and pretty good country to live in, of course since we were once part of communist Yugoslavia we are still struggling with overcoming this mentality and replacing it with a more contemporary one. It was not bad at all, but for educated people, especially if they had opinions, it was not really a place to prosper. Of course if any of you visit anytime, do not hesitate to contact me as we are very hospitable and like to feast with friends (even if they are unknown at this point :D). The photo was taken some time ago and has the whole team (including two photobombers in the back). Our clinic is in my parents’ house and we do everything from hygiene and restorative to ortho and major implant surgery and since a lot of our patients are friends or family and I meet a patient almost every day as I walk home, we really focus on patient satisfaction, because we literally have to look them in the eye 😀
Anyway, it is great to be a part of this community and I am looking forward to stuff you will do 😀
