          • @hootstr What’s been the biggest learning curve in the last 10 months?

            • The disappointment of someone leaving whom you thought was happy, but wasn’t. That felt…..poopy.

Managing the team is harder than expected, but I love these people.

Outside of that, implementing systems and teaching modern techniques has been hard, but they are catching on.

Also, my general candor, gotta be careful about what comes out of my talk box now. I’m a very open person and now sometimes I feel like I gotta keep some things on the DL. It’s uncomfortable for me.

              • Dude i can totally relate to that.

I have had similar experiences. Once you become “the boss” there seems to be a natural barrier that somehow materializes. I also am very open and genuine with what I say. But it’s a law of nature that when you are somebody’s boss, sometimes it is just hard for them to be candid with you.

Managing culture is a challenge, but certainly a worthwhile one.

I can relate to feeling hurt sometimes with the realization that while you might want to treat others well and fairly, they might not reciprocate because some people see jobs as just a job. Whereas you see it as your life’s work–your passion project to grow and nurture an amazing team.

It has been a rewarding experience for me to see how to grow with people along their journeys. But there definitely have been growing pains as well. I think I learned not to get my feelings hurt about it, and instead, see how I can make sure to keep the business growing and accept that some people hop on the bus and hop off and that’s life.

                Thanks for sharing bro

                Love
