Lin posted an update
Hi guys, I am a general dentist, practice in Covina, CA. I have a question loading temporary anterior crowns at the time of implants surgery. How many mm subgingival would you order the custom abutments? If cement retained temp crowns, how do you manage the cement ? Thank you.
Erick and Ivan-
Hey Lin, I actually just had an interview with a doc in Brazil who does that. First off, he makes a hole in the occlusal portion of the crown to help extrude the cement.
I’ll be sure to share the video once it’s uploaded to the video library
Okay when it comes to how many mm talk to make the custom abutment, I’m not sure! Any thoughts on that @vorholtdds ? -

Hey @linwong23 are you currently restoring on the same day as surgery? I’d love to hear about your workflow!

Yesterday was my very first case I did #7, #8, #9 implants surgery and custom abutments and temporary crowns same day because patient wanted it. Also, it was D1/D2 bone so I knew it ahead of time that I will get primary stability to restore them and I did. Everything was guided with lab made temp crowns. Everything went well except the jigs for custom abutments, I was not sure which direction to be seated so one of the temp crown was slightly tilted.

That sounds awesome, do you have any pictures or x rays of the case? Would love to see those!
