Gotta graft those gaps. Implant surgery has come a long way over the years along with improved surgical techniques. Even though bone graft is not required for these implants to osseointegrate it is a must for ideal healing and to preserve the patients existing gingival architecture with minimal soft and hard bone remodeling.

Here are two immediate implants from that were placed with great initial stability. On occasion I prefer to place narrow healing abutments in these cases in order to gain greater keratinized tissue in which I will later manipulate with a wider healing abutment prior to restore. Buccal gaps and surrounding areas were grafted using CGF/PRF protocols to improve healing. Excellent healing can be seen in the last photo two weeks after surgery and remnants from the CGF/PRF membrane are present which has helped protect and provide nutrients to the surgical site.

Had some questions prior about CGF/PRF bone graft course from some of you in the past regarding our in-person course. Hit me up about our next course at Restored Smiles Ranch on August 3rd for some amazing hands on – all info is also on Implant Ninja site as well.

      • Hi, I placed an immediate implant on #31 with cover screw (final torque at 35Ncm) but my suture loosen up and most of the graft/membrane came out in 2 days. Can I go back and graft it or it’s best to replace it? Thank you.

        • Hard to tell without any pics and/or X-rays but most likely at this point I would leave it and let nature take its course. It implant is proper depth should heal and fill in with bone.
