Here is an update from the previous post…
This shows how we dealt with the complication of a buccal perforation. Luckily, the patient had sufficient width so we removed the implant and placed another implant lingual to that site with better buccal lingual agulation. We then bone grafted the site and perforation and secured a resorbable collagen barrier membrane over the perforation and sutured up the site. We were even able to acheive excellent inital stablity with the replacement implant and place a healing abutment. CBCT was also done to verifty correct repositioning of our implant. Always make sure you have great vision and awareness utilizing a full thickeness flap and be aware of the undercuts and concavities that are very common on the maxilla.
