Last year I spent a week, including Thanksgiving in the hospital, waiting for an opening in the OR to have a surgery done. I was on NPO, only liquids over Thanksgiving. Hi nice to meet you guys. I am new to implant crowns and just wanted your opinion. I have a case for the 14 15 for impressions this Tuesday. I noticed on the radiographs there is quite a bit of bone loss on the 14 two months after placement. I do intend to take another xray on the day but is this cause for concern or is it normal. Thanks

Is it just me or can we sort of see a slight preview of the future bone loss in the first x ray?
The answer to your question is that yes, it is a cause for concern, but also that yes this is normal. It does happen to us all.
Best thing to do now is stop the progression of the bone loss. Curious to hear what you guys would do.

I think at this stage your best ally is going to be thick connective tissue and a well polished (not glazed) crown with good profile. It is a concern, but not enough to remove the implant. I have actually seen some cases fill in later if the crown, hygiene and tissue is ideal.

100% long term fixed temp from lab.
I love these because you are basically previewing what the final will be, but you can still tweak it. I like acrylic, but some labs like to do zirc temps too
I would still use a flipper tho during the initial healing phases.

So for surgery day stick with just the implants. Let it heal for a little bit, then go back in and prep 6/10/11?

What implants is everyone using? And what made you choose that system?
When I was in perio residency, we used about 5-6 systems just to get a feel for them all and see how things differed. But in practice there is so much to consider (price, healing, ease of use for surgical and restorative).
So I’m interested in what people are using!

I used to place almost all Neodent, now I have been placing more and more Implant Club 😅. Still placing Zeramex for Zirconia Implants.

Was the healing abutment down all the way? Typically nothing should get between the healing abutment and implant if that connection is snug. I’ve seen ones where stuff gets in there with it not being down all the way.
